Summertime, and the living is easy — especially in Winter Park, with its profusion of lakes. There’s no lovelier locale in town than the Harold Alfond Boathouse on Lake Virginia. Owned by Rollins College, the boathouse was built in 1990 with funding from philanthropist Harold Alfond, founder of the Dexter Shoe Company. In addition to paying for the building, Alfond, who died in 2007, contributed to refurbishing the shoreline to create a better setting for sailing, waterskiing, boating and canoeing. And, as it turns out, for modeling summer fashions.
