It caused a literal and figurative splash when the renovated Capen-Showalter House made its grand debut after being floated by barge, in halves, across Lake Osceola. Because the 130-year-old structure — and its grounds — was dressed to the nines and looking more gorgeous than ever, we figured it would provide an ideal setting for a Winter Park Magazine fashion shoot. So, to salute the stately Tudor Revival charmer, and spotlight the thoroughly modern clothing and accessories available from local boutiques, we headed to the Albin Polasek Museum & Gardens, where the lovingly restored house now serves as museum offices and community event space.
