Fashion in the Park

January 2009

FASHION_IMG_3681WEB_tn.jpg Tent City sprang from the grassy area of West Meadow Park in downtown Winter Park. Soon it was filled with fans of fashion, runways, designers and models all taking part in the second annual Park Avenue Fashion Week. Opening night featured shows of ready-to-wear fashions from retail stores and local boutiques. In addition, the finalists in the Emerging Local Designer contest presented their work to the audience and judges. Soraya Bernard of Casselberry was the winner with her collection, River Chavon. During the next several days, local stores hosted trunk shows, appearances by designers and parties. The event also raised money for the Winter Park YMCA, which received 20 percent of the ticket sales. On the Web: parkavenuefashionweek.com
